There is no good way to put this: Century 21 is a zoo. The department store downtown, famous for its deep discounts on designer clothes, the walls are packed with tourists, aggression, and the bad, bad karma. Walk in the case and, make no mistake: You will bend. You'll be barking. You will be lectured on store policies obscure. And you wait in lines for such a slow, disorganized, and the hostility they test the willingness of a Franciscan monk. Head to the Lower East Side, and continue

The PRT was once as heinous as the MPD, attracting its share of the bridge and tunnel crowd. But now the neighborhood bound by Chinatown, South, East Village, north and west of Soho, is also high end (luxury Chloe 81 81 Ludlow St., 212-677-0067 ) or low-end (diving Home Sweet Home, 131 Chrystie St., 212-226-5708) that you want it. For those not averse to exploring further, get thee to Brooklyn Kings County was crowned the new ruler of the night life of this city. Take a taxi (yes, they have to take you), start on Smith Street in Boerum Hill or Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg, and who knows where you might end up eating barbecue and drinking beer at 4:00 in the House Brooklyn ice (318 Van Brunt St., Red Hook, 718-222-1865) or establishment with a certain size bass in a corner of the Art Deco bar K & M (225 N. 8th St., Williamsburg , 718-388-3088).
