Does anyone here miss the days of hockey fights? There has been no fighting without intervention of the arbitrator in this Stanley Cup year so far. What happened to the days of the Flyers game against Senators brawl?
What is it from Chicago to Vancouver
there were a couple of ducks in the series of shark
To a certain extent.
1on1 fight to keep the enemy in check following a dangerous strike against a teammate
allowed to a point. I dropped the gloves repeatedly in such circumstances when the victim of a cheap shot to a teammate could be expected to do the same for me.
But a fight, often disrupts the flow of the game, like a ref calling every borderline penalties.
Hockey takes a lot of athletic ability and athleticism.
Not everyone can skate forward, backward + side, baste, pass the puck, beyond control, put one on an opponent, etc.
All this and more are among the things that make our sport unique + if such a pleasure to play and watch.
There were hundreds of fights in the NHL this season. I'm sure they call the creeps in the stands. Hockey fans need blood there. They are rock bottom. I am sure they are in dog fighting, cagefighting, cockfights. I imagine that boxing is too bland, not violent enough for low lifes.
