Green Boxing GlovesHow Green Spring Clean

As the weather warms, it is time for the annual outing and the clear spring cleaning. Here are some tips to make your spring cleaning a little green .

- Four - get rid of this abrasive oven cleaner! They are corrosive, toxic and extremely harmful to the environment. Try this simple recipe Bridget Gardner Fresh Green Clean

Cleaning the inside of ovens:

  • Mix 1 / 3 cup bicarb with water to make a frosting-like paste in a small bowl.
  • Use a pastry brush to paint the railings, walls and base.
  • Turn on the oven and "bake" over low heat for 10-15 minutes.
  • Turn off oven and let cool slightly. Wear gloves and take the door to the sink.
  • Lightly burnish the door with a pad of stainless steel is washed regularly in a small bowl of warm water.
  • Scrape the fat-filled bicarb furnace walls, door and base with a wooden or plastic spatula.
  • Fill the bowl with warm water and a spot of detergent, soap or vinegar, then use it with a cloth (ie old piece towel) to wipe the remaining residue.
  • Final note: If any residue remains bicarb white, do not worry. It is completely odorless and nontoxic, and now the fat will stick to it, instead of the oven and make it easier to clean next time.

- Dusting - Forget all the chemical spray for dusting. For most jobs dusting (frames, books, cds) a clean, damp cloth will do very well.

- Donate your profile - Do not Chuck away. Magazines and books can often be given instead of simply discarded. Old clothes and furniture can be donated to charities. Old electronics can be collected by recyclers.

- Be creative - Reuse your "junk" as far as possible and give it new life. The boxes and books can be stacked to make a bedside table with a cloth draped over Nice.

- Step on your refrigerator - Make your refrigerator to operate more efficiently by vacuuming the coils can save you money and help the environment.

- Make your own carpet cleaner - mix borax and essential oil together, sprinkle on the carpet, let sit and then vacuum.

- Dry Cleaners - for cleaning staff, always look for agents that use minimal packaging, do not use a corrosive and provide proof of their eco friendly claims.
