The benefits of Tai Chi and internal martial arts of self-defense: Part 1 of 2 The benefits of Tai Chi and internal martial arts of self-defense: Part 1 of 2
Internal martial arts like Tai Chi, or Ba Gua can be extremely effective for self defense if trained correctly. There are a few strategic principles in Chinese internal martial arts that can provide a tactical advantage in melee combat. I will describe in the following sections: Board of alignment and the evolution of friction and sensitivity, timing, Initiative (the latter two, I'll explain in Part II of this article). You will notice that there is nothing magical about it - it is all science. For more information on tai chi, self-defense and kung fu please visit Martial Arts London Ontario (MALO).
The body alignment / posture and body changing
The first thing Chinese internal martial arts like Tai Chi and Ba Gua is that they are based outside of the Chinese system of medicine. This system has been well aware of things that chiropractors and physiotherapists, sports are just beginning to learn about the human nervous system and spinal cord, the benefits of meditation, and muscle tendon Excellence / functional. As gymnasts and dancers, practitioners of internal arts exercises difficult and challenging, drills, and forms to literally change the metabolism of the body, balance, structure, tendon strength, speed and flexibility. The most serious is with their changing body training, plus the results they see. Doing Tai Chi once a week, without the necessary secrets is not enough. Initially, this training is extremely difficult, such as jogging is extremely difficult for the beginner. But after years of practice, the martial artist's body begins to change internally, and they begin to see the benefits of health and martial, as they begin to move as a functional unit and stop using "force awkward . They also damaged less often in hard martial arts fight. This body also includes conditioning the evolution of the tendon, which makes an artist house "feels" stronger as they move into a unit more functional. tendons are stronger than steel. If you can learn to use them, and strengthen them, then move as a unit more functional and robust (still liquid).
Friction and sensitivity
Another important aspect in the internal arts like Tai Chi, Ba Gua or (Cheng and Sher Magui), friction, or what is sometimes called sticky hands. With this changing body, and two people "push", "research" or "sticking" the practice of hands, practitioners become more sensitive to others, and using this sensitivity, internal martial arts can use the strength of an enemy against them outside of their balance. And using friction, the practitioner can provide more kinetic energy per second as the punch right. All boxers know that more friction more damage, as it applies to throws and arm drags. The more friction when throwing an opponent, the more kinetic energy you give them, the fastest to reach the ground. Also, the friction with good
