Martial Arts Novels

Last year, the group of Chinese textbooks compiled took a decision that certain parts of a martial-arts novel was chosen as one of the texts. This has triggered a heated debate. Some say it's a new idea to do so. The martial arts novels are a new kind of literature and should be included in the manual. Others are strongly against this decision. They say it will not be good for students because they think of nothing but fighting and revenge when they read such books. In my opinion it is unreasonable to put the novel in the martial arts texts.

Firstly, the main theme of these novels is revenge. For all characters, not a minute was forgotten revenge. The purpose of life is to seek revenge. These novels with this kind of theme do no good to students. It will carry side effects to the development of student health. They can follow the same way of revenge in case of conflict or dispute with others in everyday life. This mentality is harmful to the creation of a harmonious society.

Secondly, the characters do than fight with them. They do not need to earn a living. Their main task is to find someone to fight. This is contrary to real life, which may lead to fantasy on the part of students. This may distract students they should focus on the study and also lead to unhealthy competition among students.

Thirdly, there are all sorts of factions in the novels. People are always a species of faction. Students can follow this path to hang in several students to form their factions, which is detrimental to the solidarity of students.

Students who have not established their values and outlook of life will be affected by these ideas. They can mimic the characters and do evil things. Therefore, these novels should be removed from the book. Of course, some good materials should be chosen to educate students and help train the prospects for decent life. They are eligible for selection for his entire life.
