Forms of Martial Arts Martial Arts come in different shapes and they are not confined to Kung-fu or Taekwondo, which is very popular in television and film. You'd be surprised to know that certain forms of fighting are also called martial arts. To learn and practice martial arts, it must be well equipped with appropriate equipment.
The martial arts have different origins. The term "martial" is derived from the Roman god of war named "Mars". Martial Arts simply means "the art of war." Although most people think that martial arts are entered in Asian cultures, it is also found in America and Europe. The martial arts have a kind of combat system that has codes in a single objective to defeat a person physically.
Otherwise, it is mainly used for self-defense against injury. Some martial arts techniques are actually based on a philosophy of spiritual or religious, such as Aikido and Judo. Then others do it based on a certain code of honor as fences. Therefore, martial arts techniques are practiced as a form of martial arts and sometimes in the form of dance.
Thus, regardless of where the original art, they have similarities with one another. Each style has a fighting style systematized. They even have forms and routines when they do sparring, practiced alone or with a partner. Martial arts are grouped so that each style will focus on a certain area.

For some, most styles are well known as a form of martial arts technique and only a few know that boxing and fencing is also classified as such. Currently, most styles of martial arts are used as combat sports. For others, they are used for military or police training as a form of self-defense.
Thus, Tae Kwon Do, fencing, boxing and wrestling are events in the Summer Olympics. Then other martial arts such as Wushu Muay Thai China and tournaments are held around the world. CAPOEIRA
