Nathan Quarry

Nathan Quarry Most Overrated fighters in mixed martial arts

Yes Marketing is what led the UFC and MMA for what it is today, but he also gave us false or misleading statements about the expectations of some fighters. It is not their fault but the MMA organizations, forums, blogs have given greater credibility when fighters actually deserve.

Here are the top 5 MMA fighters that are overvalued.

5) Chris Leben

A fighter who has benefited from the Ultimate Fighter series was Chris Leben. It is a heavy hitter, but has few skills to save his game MMA. It was oversold and marketing so that when he fought Anderson Silva was the favorite of Paris online in most sports books.

Until reality set in.

More hype, absolutely.

4) Jorge Gurgel

Gurgel had a contact 7 UFC Fight strictly on the basis it was the friend Rich Franklin. Gurgel has been criticized throughout his seven-race fight in the UFC not to display Jiu-Jitsu in his fights. It is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu who trains with Rich Franklin.

Each time he fought Joe Rogan talk about how he has so much talent and how his game has been struggling so good. And whenever Gurgel loses below average fighters.

3) Rich Franklin

Despite its popularity Franklin was never the fighter the hype has made him be. Yes, it was UFC middleweight champion, but he fought in a very weak division and he has never fought a top ten fighter.

As champion, he fought subpar fighters and the UFC marketed himself as a drummer in the world when in fact he is a fighter to the average.

As UFC middleweight champion, Evan Tanner beat Franklin UFC 53: Heavy Hitters Nathan Quarry at UFC 56: Full Force, and David Loiseau at UFC 58: USA vs. Canada. Franklin had problems with Tanner and Loiseau and career were more C + level fighters at best. Franklin never faced real competition from the top of her career and once he did he was exposed.

lack of competence of Franklin has been revealed and the UFC can no longer protect that more and more realize that it is overrated as a fighter.

2) TUF Cast Member

Many of the fighters coming out of the TUF series are below average fighters, but have marketing value. Also get UFC fighters in the show for a cheap price and since the fighters have a sort of marketing, they are placed on UFC events. Former UFC spots are given more visible than most worthy competitors.

More and more events were UFC fighters UFC shows and most of these hunters should not fight or exaggerated manner. Just because people see them on the TUF show they automatically think they are good fighters.

Many cast members have nothing to do in the UFC but they continue to be. It appears the UFC has invested a lot of time on television in these fighters, but there must be at least a semblance of competition.

1) Kimbo Slice

No hunting is more overhyped than Kimbo Slice. It was protected in EliteXC and UFC show while he was in all marketing and commercial clip they could squeeze him in.

The Internet made Kimbo than it is today and they is no way that we can get the genie in the bottle unless the UFC gives the actual fighting. They will try to protect and market it until it has to prove himself. It is by far the battle is the most overrated in history.
