MMA Training For Six Pack Abs A few months ago, I was at my local watering hole enjoying my usual wings and beer with my friends when a broadcast of the UFC 101 is on a big screen. I am captivated by the sport, but not because of the brutality or the sportsmanship of these guys display after beating the piss the other, but I am captivated by the ABS these guys have . Do not get me wrong, I am not in men, but I'm a type of white collar 43 which is out of shape to see these warriors shredded up. Several years behind a desk, and the jump drive to spend time with my children has really taken a toll on my body once torn. I am always at the gym, however, the typical routine of weight does little for a man my age that produces a fraction of testosterone Once I produced. I also tried P90X, which was a great routine to lose weight, but it became routine and unfulfilling for me after four months to do it in my basement. So my hunt began for a local MMA gym to see what I could to change my workout.
There are about three MMA gyms in the road from my office and to my surprise, two of the three areas had the weight and decent dressing rooms. With little hesitation I joined and I was very pleased with the results so far. Keep in mind, I'm not ready to enter a cage with another patient in mid-life crisis, but the training is intense and very focused on the group.
Routine:
Monday: Muay Thai + weight class
Tuesday: Grappling (Jiu Jitsu)
Wednesday: Muay Thai Class + Weigths
Thursday: grapping (Jiu Jitsu)
Friday: plyometric training
** Grappling Classes begin with 30 minutes of fitness military style "warm up", but I'm pretty sick at the end of this routine.
Food intake:
MMA requires adequate supply of food, at least 15-18 times your body weight per day. For proteins I multiply my weight by 1.25 for my daily dose. I also keep a food diary for self-"police" my eating habits. Unlike true weight loss programs that I won a book in the first month. My pants are losing then it's certainly a consequence of muscle gain and fat is melting away.
Nutritional Supplementation:
My instructor has set up a simple plan for my supplements, I need to get through those grueling 1 -2 hour sessions.
- Supplementation MMA Stack
Omega-3
Protein Shakes-
Joint Complex
My results are amazing, after the first three months. I dropped a pant size and my arms start to look more muscular - Take the P90X. I can certainly feel fitter what classes a little easier. My six pack is only months away if I can keep this pace of training. The instructors, being alive instead of a DVD can change class to push students beyond normal comfort levels. I strongly recommend you check a local MMA gym for those looking to get in shape. Men are more than welcome in the gym I did research and they kickboxing if you do not roll on the mat with a sweaty old guy like me. Next Stop - UFC!
