Sweden Per Eklund

Sweden Per EklundPURCHASE experience of Perfect Birth

Will you have the perfect birth experience if you rent your own obstetrician and book your place in a private maternity hospital? Imagine the following:

You become pregnant and your friends tell you to give priority to reserving an obstetrician as the most popular reserve very quickly. You have money and you're determined to get the best care possible. You are very happy to see that not only private hospital you had your heart set on availability, but the obstetrician you heard so many good things are on free too. You feel happy and relieved that you can now go through your pregnancy knowing that you will receive the best care and services available.

So you decide to start going to yoga classes, prenatal classes and begin to read books. You start with the idea of a natural birth, with a minimum of drugs. You start to want to take responsibility for your own birth experience. You realize there is research suggesting a link between the drugs used in childbirth and drug abuse later in life (Jacobson et al, 1988). You will learn that maintaining the pulsation of the umbilical cord until it stops, before cutting, will increase neonatal iron storage at birth (Ceriani et al Cernadas, 2006). You read that if you have the birth of a natural right in front, there is no need to have an injection for the placenta and your body can do this on its own! Perhaps you decide to hire a doula you've learned about the favorable statistics due to a doula at your birth. Statistics as a 50% reduction in caesarean sections, 25% shorter labor 60% reduction in epidural requests, 30% reduction in analgesia used and the 40% reduction in forceps (Klaus, Kennell & Klaus, 1991).

Now you're feeling happy and excited to know much more about your options and choices. You feel "in control". You decide to talk to your obstetrician of your wishes, but throughout the meeting, you will find that there is little in common. He / she does not share your enthusiasm about a third physiological state and suggests that you have been fed unrealistic information. You feel very confused and uncertain. You try to make sense of the situation: you're paying that person to give you what you want? The less you expect your obstetrician to hear from you point of view, discuss with you and provide facts and figures as to why he / she does not share your opinion. You're not satisfied with any information that: "In my opinion" or "based on my many years of experience." The discussion quickly moves away from your ideas and preferences to inferences about birth dates and pain, the potential risk due to the baby's size or position. You begin to have a horrible feeling that your obstetrician wants you plan in an initiation of two weeks before the due date, even if there is no medical reason for it. There is a growing feeling inside you mistrust and suspicion.
When you leave the meeting you feel communication has been broken and you do not want to talk to your obstetrician more. You find that you start doing things to him / her and you are afraid to weekly meetings where you feel unheard and intimidation. You start worrying about what will happen when you go to work. How can you believe that this person will support you in your desires and not seeking an excuse to go the medical route?

Fortunately, what you just read does not happen all the time, but it happens more often than you can imagine. I'm not saying that all obstetricians are evil "them to make" people who do not care when they can CLOCK OFF, but I say a very common misconception. Going private does not necessarily guarantee that you get what you want and decoration of certain private maternity units W.
